A recent article on CNN, having the obvious title Study: Web site's appearance matters, is actually quite interesting. It points out that there are gender differences in web design taste. Although not suprising, but important to think about the study found that Men preferred pages designed by men, and women preferred pages designed by women.
Women seemed to like pages with more color in the background and typeface. Women also favored informal rather than posed pictures.
Men responded better to dark colors and straight, horizontal lines across a page.
